Injury prompts Australia to reshuffle their lineup for the Cricket T20 World Cup News.
Following the announcement that back-up wicketkeeper Josh Inglis would miss the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 due to injury, Australia has been forced to re-shuffle their roster only days before their first encounter. Inglis injured his hand while playing golf in Sydney on Wednesday, and the reigning T20 World Cup winners opted not to take any chances with the 27-year-old and dropped him from their 15-man roster.
The departure of Inglis allows Cameron Green, 23, to continue his stratospheric ascent in international cricket. Green joined the team after excelling at the top of the order during Australia’s T20I series in India last month. Green smashed two half-centuries for Australia while coming in at the top of the order for veteran opener David Warner, and the tournament hosts may try to use the right-hander in a similar manner at the Cricket T20 World Cup News if the chance arises.
While Inglis is a strong hitter, his major position in Australia’s selection was as a backup wicketkeeper to Matthew Wade, and he may not have played in the tournament unless Wade was injured.
